Every month our apartment complex is fumigated inside and outside. During the high season, the 25 units are mostly occupied, so it is no big deal for the fumigator to get inside. During the low season, like now for instance, occupancy levels drop dramatically (currently only three units have inhabitants). This means that keys for all the units must be available. I'm not sure how long it takes to find the correct key for each apartment in this huge bundle, but every month each apartment receives its dose of toxic chemicals that help keep the bugs at bay.
