Turell installation

Came across this outdoor art installation at the gallery. You walk towards the sculptural dome down a central path past two flat pools of water bordered by Australian native reeds and gum trees.

It was oddly quiet, bright blue sky, no one else around except the tiny twinkling sounds of the blue wrens. Amazingly tranquil atmosphere walking down past the water pools, eye level on entering the installation through a dark cave like opening.

Entering the first space is unusal but serene - earthy walled dome surrounded by electric blue water - the source for the natural pond outside. This is the blip. You then enter the smaller dome which is paler and has a single circular view of the sky. Almost sci-fi feeling.

I'm a huge fan and would definitely recommend to photographers - it would change all the time. I loved how the light, reflections and shapes interplay.

A beautiful light filled, slightly disorienting, experience. Here's more on the artist James Turell
