Mud Pies
The House Martins are back and gathering mud as they start to build their nests under the eaves of the house. It's amazing how they get them to stick.
Last year we had eight nests, four of these are still there, two of which have been taken over by House Sparrows.
The little Wrens use the old nests as group roosts in the bad winter weather, I have counted over 15 squeezing into one nest, little wonder that they burst a couple off the wall.
