A walk in the park
Friday
First of all, thanks to everyone who commented on my "Fine Jewels" shot yesterday - it's much appreciated.
As opposed to yesterday's foggy start, today was bright and sunny all day. I went out walking at Glenwood Gardens, where there was some lovely autumn color. I love this bridge over the stream - lovely stonework and smart black railings. The last time I went, the stream wasn't much more than a trickle, but after the rain we had Tuesday night, it had quite a flow to it today.
Roger left work early and we went looking at garage doors- our house still has the original wooden one, which is going rotten in places and sagging in the middle. We've been talking about replacing it for ages, but now the mechanism is going faulty, so its spurred us into action.
This evening we went to a concert in downtown Cincinnati at St. Peter in Chains Cathedral, a beautiful building. The concert was the a capella mens ensemble Chanticleer. They come to St. Peter in Chains every year, and I think this was the third time we've heard them and we've been thrilled every time. This time their program was American music, including music from the Spanish mission period, contemporary American music, Native American music, Stephen Foster and negro spirituals. The acoustics in the building are really good and lend themselves to their sound. A really great evening!
