Shhh...we don't want to frighten her!
I watched as she meticulously carried bits of grass and whatnot to built the nest. It didn't take her that long, really. She would hop down on the ground and eye me....waiting until she thought I wasn't looking. Then she would fly up into the little tree and make her way to the branch she had chosen for her nest.
Yesterday, I discovered she had left the nest for a time and I photogrpahed the single egg in the marvelously woven nest. I stood in awe...looking at the beautiful workmanship this tiny bird accomplished. Today, there are two eggs in the nest. It will be interesting and fun to watch as the baby robins hatch in just a few weeks!
