The Life Of Ponty Cyclops

By pontycyclops

You Alwight? I'm Alwight Too!

Sorry ... another puntastic blip, today brought to you from the wonderful wetlands of Frampton Marsh.

We managed a couple of hours down there today and managed to increase the year list by several birds and the life list by a couple more, including this awesome Black Winged Stilt. I was particularly chuffed it was still there as it had been on the bird lists for the last few weeks, and I fully expected to have been gone by this weekend. It was still there with some other goodies, like a Curlew Sandpiper, Little Ringed Plover and a couple of Garganey.

We spent a pleasant twenty minutes talking to a bloke who was just like me, full of enthusiasm and enjoyed the fun aspect, and the pure escapism from the mundrum of daily life.

The Little Egret was hidden in the long grass to start with, but took flight as we watched, this was one of those lucky shots as it flew over the Mute Swan.

The day ended with these two Swallows perching rather photogenically by the visitor hut.

We've been out for a lovely Italian tonight for the start of Dawn's birthday celebrations for next week, and it's the wedding tomorrow. Happy days!
