Wild garlic for dinner
Tonight, I picked a load of wild garlic or ramsons from our garden. I transplanted a few bunches from a friend's garden into a shady patch of ours and now, after a few years, we have enough to provide us annually with ingredients enough for a few spring meals. And so today, I blended some leaves with butter in a food processor and used the resulting "wild garlic butter" to make some pretty tasty wild garlic bread. Like supermarket garlic bread but greener and better! I love the lush dripping green-ness of this picture. Wild garlic really prefers damp, humid conditions, such as river gorges, but still manages to do OK in a relatively dry corner of our garden.
