Flowers
"The flowers you gave me are rotting and still I refuse to throw them away.
Some of the bulbs never opened quite fully.
They might so i'm waiting and staying awake.
Things I have loved i'm allowed to keep
I'll never know if I go to sleep."
Flowers, Regina Spektor
Al-right, tenuous link #2 for the Musical May challenge -because it is one flower, not plural and also the flower is not rotting (nor is it real, actually). It does, however, fit in with my other challenge of trying to shoehorn my kiddos into every challenge task that I possibly can... so there you go.
Also, I got my "Life in the UK" test study guide today and it is BIG and SCARY!! I have lived quite happily in the UK for nearly 8 years without knowing all of this stuff so why do I have to learn it now? Plus, I don't know if I can prove this but I'm sure it's true- my children have stolen some of my brain cells. I'm sure of it. When they were growing inside me they were sucking the smartness out of me, that is the only way I can explain the percentage of intelligence that I have lost. Therefore I don't know how in the world I am going to remember all of the facts in that book that are apparently so necessary to be able to live and breathe in the UK, especially in the short timespan I have to study. *sigh*
