Wherever next?

Another day, another hotel...

Mirepoix. I have passed through the town several times but have never stopped here. A lovely medieval town centre with a covered square and surrounding wooden terraced streets. We arrived about 5.30pm with the temperature at a reasonable 35'C - down from the 39.7'C we had spent the afternoon cycling in. The route from Béziers had been hilly but the roads quiet with the exception of around Carcassonne where the tourist season was in full swing. We entered La Cité for a look around and to partake a Perrier citron before venturing forth into the heat again.
Total mileage for the day was 140km and we climbed almost 1000 metres. In this heat it is just as well we are all experts in the art of rehydrating with Stella after exertion.
