I had a sort of pre-birthday party for myself...by myself...on Thursday night. Feeling a bit melancholy about the whole thing, passing my birthday unemployed, waiting for a callback from a potential employer (who is now out of town, btw), getting older and feeling useless, I surrounded myself with some favorite things:

* Some incense
* My small Stephen Mitchell Tao Te Ching
* A cup of Dandy Blend
* Broken Social Scene's You Forgot It In People
oh and of course
* My camera and favorite lens

I had a great night. I think the cat came by and hung out a bit, too.
