ALL CLAMMED UP

"Ooh, I've never seen those before except as empty shells on the beach", I said.

George the fishman tapped their shells and all the wiggly white ends shot inside.

"Bleurgh!" I squirmed, "They're alive!"

"Of course they are" said George, "it keeps them fresh. You should try them".

"No. I'd take them home and keep them in the bath!"

"They're lovely" said George.

"Have you got any haddock?" I asked, unable to look away from the re-emerging wiggly white ends. "Anyway, what do you do with them?"

"Throw them in a pot of boiling water and they come out of their shells", (I bet they do) "Then fry them with garlic and chilli".

"I'll just take the haddock thanks George. Bye".

The clams all gave a little wet wave as I left .....
