through the toothed window
I got a little wet on the way in, not really doing much to prevent this by going in up the soggy part of the WoL path between Stockbridge and Dean, where water freely runs across the path in several places. A little bit of surface water on the cobbles back up to road level meant the odd little bit of wheelspin but it's always useful to get an idea of the grip-loss point. I hadn't previously got round to trying entering the West End tram-disruption from the north-west despite often escaping in that direction at the end of the day, which was the main purpose of the route. I got very (but not extremely) soggy on the way home, but all delicate electronics were safely contained in waterproof containers and I'd tightened my brakes a little before leaving. It wasn't particularly heavy rain but it was quite persistent and face-directed for much of the journey and resulted in the need to enter the house through the back door so that all soggy things could be left on the moppable floor of the kitchen.
The wingpiglet still has a couple of giant scabs on his back which will probably be scraped off a couple of times before they heal but his face (under artificial light) is now clear (apart from a little bit of red eyelid) and he's not scratching at his head at all despite the dried-out spots visible beneath his hair. This evening also marked the return to his normal going-to-sleep time, and hopefully also a more normal waking-back-up time.
