Too soon they fall...
After a wonderfully spectacular season of cherry blossom, a day of persistent rain has decimated the flowers on trees in our street.
The trees have gradually seemed less pink, and the roads and pavement more pink as the day has gone on. This photo was taken at lunchtime, but the rain, and falling petals continued until the evening. The flowing rainwater gathered the petals into waves by the side of the road.
Farewell, cherry blossom, we await your return next year..
