Jean-Michel Folon

Jean-Michel Folon was a Belgian artist and sculptor born in Brussels in 1934 and died in Monaco in 2005.

In the 1990's he created 'The Folon Foundation' in 'La Hulpe', just south of Brussels. The Foundation is within the grounds of Chateau de la Hulpe, and holds more than 500 pieces, and40 years of his work.

This sculpture of the man with the fish, is a relatively new water feature at the restaurant Taverne de L'Homme Bleu, which is a lovely and traditional restaurant opposite the Folon Foundation.

Today I met a couple of friends there for lunch and then we had a walk around the grounds. It was a lovely afternoon but very humid!
