face in the crowd
another great day with euroclass and i was completely stuck with choosing a blip.
in the end i couldn't resist this one. i wonder what she is thinking about to make her so serious? sometimes it's easy to just see a big group of children and forget that they have individual lives and stories, some of which would no doubt break our hearts.
we hear a lot about how children here are rarely affirmed, rarely told they are loved, rarely hugged by a mother or father or auntie or uncle, rarely told 'i'm proud of you'. this is pretty inconceivable for us in the west, who hear such tremendous words so regularly.
i believe that we are the people we are today because of the words that were spoken over us as children.
what does this say for a generation of young people who don't know exactly how wonderful and precious they are?
God help us to communicate how deep and high and long and wide your love is for these ones.
