Our old pole...
It has turned into a very wet day here, not that we are complaining - we really need the rain to keep the grass growing. It has turned a bit cold also, so we have lit the fire - we are all warm and cosy now. Even the cats have come in out of the wet and cold.
This old pole has been erected in one of our paddock for 40 odd years - so is certainly part of the farm's history. It use to be an old telegraph pole, but is now used to hold up a radio aerial - not that it is connected to a radio nowdays. The pole really shows its age as over the years it has grown many interesting things on it. Here you can see lichen and this orange stuff, which I presume is some sort of fungus. What ever it is, it is an interesting colour.
