Still waiting for the sun

Frustration last week is replaced by a warm feeling despite the continuing rain. Yesterdays brief sunshine (while I was at work) encouraged Gentiana angustifolia to open its flowers.

I once saw this plant covering acres of ground in the Pyrenees. Gentian blue as far as the eye could see, one of the most memorable sights I have seen in the mountains. Hence the warm feeling on seeing the flowers open here.
