Wartime Legacy.

Legacy is very topical just now.

The London 2012 Olympics will we are told leave a valuable legacy, and definately will not leave expensive white elephants like so many Olympics of recent decades.

Time will tell.

This view, though, is a legacy of German bombardments of Scarborough in two World Wars.

So many civilians injured or killed. So many properties damaged or destroyed.

Many of the properties were replaced but this gap was left, creating a new and quite special viewpoint.
