Taking Down the Chimney

The old boiler house serving Aberdeen's Foresterhill Health Campus is now no more, and the contractors have now begun the final task of dismantling the chimney.

The smokestack is being demolished in a piecemeal fashion, requiring workers to be hoisted in a cage by one of the two cranes currently on site. (The other is rigged with apparatus - seen edge-on in this view unfortunately - for bringing the concrete rings down to ground level, one at a time.)
