The Big Cruise Day 4: where do toilets come from?
(as if you had ever wanted to know)
If you have ever spotted the name Armitage or Armitage Shanks printed on some bathroom porcelain this is where it came from, no doubt. Reminds me of a Carry On film.
Over the years we have many times passed through Armitage in Staffordshire on the Trent & Mersey Canal and there are always 1000s of toilet bowls etc. piled up like this, presumably awaiting delivery.
Canals pass through many industrial areas (that's why they were built in the first place) as well as lots of pretty countryside. There should be Blips of both as we go along.
Today I was tempted to Blip one of my many pictures of the rain and hail (some with ducks) but decided it was too depressing.
[Explanation: Big Cruise Blips begin on 9th April (where there's an introduction) and last nearly 8 weeks with a break in the middle. I'll catch up with uploading asap - mostly in June]
