Night Flowers #2

Empire of the Sun - Country

To just close your eyes and dream is to cross the fine line into fantasy. Such moments offer momentary reprieves from reality, however it never provides a solution, only an image of insatiable desire; a plateau to which can never be reached.

It tickles, pushes and beckons. A siren out in the middle of the ocean leading ships to their impending doom. Sadly enough it is the main motivator for people to get up in the morning. The sense of desire and need to actualise their fantasy. Obviously I don't specifically mean "fantasy" as in sexual fantasy or anything, but to get up and be more than the sum of your parts. Although I don't consider myself intelligent (I like to use "big" words to hide my insecurity), human beings are considerably amazing and can achieve great feats as far as humans can comprehend obviously. But imagine yourself to be without such desires. To be like an animal and carry out a simple program of eating, mating, sleeping, migrating, etc. That would be pure bliss. No worries, no desires, no fault. Perhaps there's more to animals than meets the eye, David Attenborough is incredibly convincing, but it would be more simplistic.

But fantasy is what you make of it and what you choose. When you open your eyes, you can see it everywhere. Through people's fantasies, the spoils of creativity and progress are right before you.
