Ready to go!

My name is Chris, I am a Taiko Drummer for Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers and the Mugen Taiko Dojo in South Lanarkshire. Today I will be embarking upon a three week tour of England and Scotland with Mugenkyo, beginning in Wolverhampton and ending in the Rothes Halls in Glenrothes. In my earlier years I often daydreamed about what life might be like as a travelling musician and I was given my first opportunity to do so last June on Mugenkyo's Way Of The Drum tour. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience but I regretted not keeping a comprehensive record of events. Every day was rich with encounters, not all of them good at the time but all entertainingly remembered by those involved now. Sadly there are always things forgotten when not written down, so having been given the opportunity to go on tour again I have resolved to make sure I don't make that mistake a second time.

I should stress that I am in no way a skilled photographer (which should be obvious) nor do I think I ever will be. The blipfoto format just seemed the best way to keep me on track with my efforts. I may miss the odd day due to wayward internet access/complete mental shutdown due to fatigue but I will try my hardest for you. If all goes to plan I'll have something to look back on and relive when I want to remember just where I've been, and you might get a sense of what life on tour is like.

So, the first photo. There are many interesting things to shoot at our home at the Mugen Taiko Dojo - Taiko is rather photogenic - and given that we have a full day ahead of us before we set off tonight maybe a more exciting photo like a packed tour van or the team gurning away might be more appropriate. However I've decided to go ahead and post a picture of my bags waiting patiently in my flat, which I shall be living out of for the rest of the month. There will be lots more colourful photos over the weeks to come.

I think I've overpacked.
