Tired but happy
Just in case you are wondering why there was no entry over the last few days, I literally did not have any sleep during the night and only some 30-60min bits when Jake was working from home during the day. Mia either doesn't sleep at all or only in our arms. No, she is not spoilt, the poor little bugger has thrush in her mouth and bottom, which is painful. Unfortunately, I have it on my nipples, too, so I hope we don't cross-infect each other whilst we are on the medication.
The breastfeeding clinic on Monday was helpful, but I must admit, I'm not following all of the advice. I was shown how to try and make her feed strongly within one hour, so she gets the fatty bits, too. After an hour we are meant to take her off and settle her differently. I've also been told not to feed get by demand for a week, but wake her up every 3 hours to feed. I haven't been doing that, though. Sometimes, the only thing that has settled her was a few minutes on my breast in between feeds and we did not wake her up for her next 3-hourly feed if she had just managed to fall asleep, or like this morning, actually slept for 5 hours after a sleepless night. I reckon we can do the programme when she is comfortable again.
And the cricket ball? A present from me for Jake as a sign of my appreciation for all his support.
