Evening Curlew?
Headed over to the Point this evening in the hope of catching another nice sunset. Unfortunately, after blue skies and lots of puffy clouds all day, the clouds started to disappear as the sun was going down. Seems strange to complain about the lack of clouds, but as we know without them sunsets simply aren't the same.
Ironically, as the sun was going down some dark clouds did appear but only snuffed out any colours that may have developed. When I realised my walk was probably going to be in vain, I heard a shrill cry from a couple of birds sitting on the rocks enjoying the last of the sun's rays. Through the lens they appeared to be Curlews, but the sound was a bit different. Don't know if there is a variation in their call at this time of year or whether they were juveniles or even some other bird. Maybe someone out their in Blip World will know?
Anyway, here is one of them taken at quite a distance in the fading light, hence the graininess. However, I did like the warm glow from the last of the sun.
Thanks for all the stars and hearts for yesterday's Chaffinch chick, which were very much appreciated.
