Monster ceanothus
I have been eying up this gigantic bush, working out the best day to blip it. It is truly a monster and when flowering dominates the eye, drawing your gaze to the end of the garden. Thankfully some blue skies today after days of gloom so I seized the moment. It truly is spectacular, like a shaggy blue cloud.
My husband hates this bush as it grows like crazy and if you brush past it when in flower, you end up covered in hundreds of tiny blue flowers. Ceanothus can be temperamental and he managed to kill one at our old house with over zealous pruning so I usually throw myself in front of it to stop him attacking it with sharp instruments. Even so, I manage to give it a good old hair each year.
