Frederick Douglass and Susan B Anthony Memorial

Well, that was a mouthful, and the word "Bridge" was supposed to be added after "Memorial"!

I spent a couple of hours downtown Rochester yesterday afternoon, and happened to park on a bridge looking toward the above bridge. This bridge was built in 2007 and reminds me of "Squinty" in Scotland in that it is an arched and suspension bridge.

The water (quite viciously, actually) running underneath it is the Genesee River. It was very impressive taking this photo....the wind was whipping very briskly and the noise coming from the river was nearly deafening!

The water was running so rapidly and I've no idea if this is typical or not, as I am unfamiliar with Rochester, proper. I saw two huge dead trees that had been swept by the water, hung up on various concrete "preipices". (for lack of a better word!)

All in all, downtown Rochester is quite intriguing!
