I lost my phone in Lorient so was unable to contact the band to get a lift to Lannion, so I took a train journey of five hours but managed to find the venue in time to see Sarkozy's concession speech, be fed by the sensational Sandrine, and see the gig - which was a blinder. Such a lovely venue too - in a stone cottage opposite a 13th-century church in a very picturesque town... if you'd told me there was a rock venue there I wouldn't have believed you.
