O is for ... Ole Ole Ole

It was SWALEC Cup final day and Pontypridd chance to defend the trophy they won last season. It was the first part at our second attempt at the double in consecutive years.

Alas it wasn't our day. Some you win some you lose, this one we most certainly lost!

Despite a bright opening and Ponty taking a 13-3 lead, you never got the feeling they were running away with it. Cross Keys have a dream season. They had a famous victory over the Cornish Pirates in the BIC cup, and despite being soundly beaten in the final, they did not disgrace themselves.

Ponty went in at half time with a 13-6 lead. Unfortunately, they saved their worse performance of the season for the second half. Cross Keys came out meaner, and more determined, and run away with the game with a forty minutes of brilliant rugby. They run out comfortable winners 31-19. They were simply much better than us. Sometimes that happens.

So a disappointing end to the cup campaign, let's hope we can go on and win the league final now.
