Buttermere in Sunshine

A glorious weekend in the Lakes this weekend supporting fellow Rucksack club members led by Ian who completed a continuous walk of 60 miles to visit the highest summit in each of Alfred Wainright's Pictorial guides of the Lake District Fells. Here's a link to the three completers on the final summit of High Street.

Geoff and I provided sustenance etc at road crossings. One of the support points was the beautiful Lakeland hamlet of Buttermere standing on the alluvial plain at the end of the Buttermere Lake and Crummock Water. Descending from Newlands Hause, this was our view with the village nestling in the valley with Red Pike above.
