Cheese and onion pie and Grandma's rolling pin.
Maling pottery is collected by people all over the world. The pottery was based in Byker, Newcastle Upon Tyne in 1762 and the kilns finally extinguished in 1963. They produced everything from jam jars to high quality tableware. When Grandma was a girl she lived near to this pottery and as was custom, when she married Grandad in 1907 she bought things for her kitchen at Malings. This is the rolling pin she bought. The wooden handles are long gone, but it was used all her life to make pies, scones etc, then by her daughter and now by me. Everytime I use it,it brings back memories of eating her apple pie at teatime on Sundays.
