Bosham, West Sussex
Had a few senior moments today. Decided to go to Uppark for lunch, setting off just as the weather changed for the worse. The car parks were already full, we decided not to risk the cafe, and tootle down to Bosham instead. Couldn't find the way out of the car park, ended up in the private drive to the house! Finally ploughed through mud and several grass verges to avoid people just arriving, and reached the road.
Then one of us took the road to Emsworth instead of Bosham, and the other one didn't even realise till we were there:) By the time we got to Bosham, for a rather late lunch, the rain had stopped. We deserved a break, don't you think. Plus the tide was high, a real Supermoon tide, coming well over the road. If you don't know Bosham I should tell you that the road that goes round the harbour floods each high tide. Each year people get caught out by parking on the edge and leaving their cars, not realising. Today the sea was well into the side roads, you can see the yellow lines in the water. Sailors and those playing at it were having a great time. Luckily the little cafe - Mariners - wasn't full and we managed lunch overlooking the action. The racing was just ending and all the sailing dinghies were coming in. This guy was waiting for his trailer to arrive. Terrific day in the end:)
