The rain has continued to fall and the floodwaters have risen. After a fairly tedious day, Pete and I decided to go and take a closer look at the river, and found our usual walking route well and truly under water. Sometimes this section of path, which acts as a spillway between the river and the Rowing Lake, can be waded through, but though they all set off optimistically, the water was soon precariously close to the top of Pete's wellies. Soon after this they all turned back!
