The Wildlife in Oregon

Having lunch on the Bay afforded us the opportunity to photograph some of the local wildlife. Most of you know that Blippers are not native to Oregon, however they are spreading rapidly up and down the coast. This one is obviously female as it sports the very bright colors of the female Blipper. Interesting, as in some species, the males are the most colorful.

Blippers can eat almost anything, they can be seen day or night and, to the best of our knowledge, they don't eat their young. Other countries have had some success taming wild Blippers. Some have even been known to teach them tricks, but they always do best in the wild where they can lurk about, camera in hand, muttering, "say cheeeezzzz" and other cute little sayings. This one's vocabulary appeared to be limited to "everybody stand together" and "I'll have the salt water taffy". No, wait, I believe I heard it say something about fried fish, fudge and ice cream. Yes, just like the duckies, Blippers will eat almost anything you throw their way!
