Had my first photography lessons today, trying to learn how to take pictures properly. Trying for some technique and some conscious improvement. With a photographer teacher and the other photographer 'pupil' who do beautiful and classic landscapes and great portraits.

Using a newly borrowed (on long-term loan) camera. Without reading the manual. Confused all the settings. Discovered it was the the macro lens I'd randomly picked up so focussing was also a challenge. It feels strange, not an intuitive extension of my mind's eye. I guess I'll get there eventually.

Gorgeous hill, great weather. Cold.

Good teacher, patient and reassuring.

Reviewing the evidence, nothing works.

I took less photos than normal. Glimpses of light, fragments of line. Held them all in my memory instead.

Got a long way to go. Interesting journey though. And I bagged another Munro.
