Martin Simpson

It occurred to me last night that the Raunds Music Festival was taking place this weekend and, as it's very close by, it would be daft not to go along. So I did.
Pictured is Martin Simpson, who is a great guitarist, singer, writer of songs and interpreter of British and American Folk and blues, having lived here and in the States. The shadow belongs to melodeon maestro Andy Cutting.
Earlier, I'd watched The Melrose Quartet; Nancy Kerr, James Fagan and Jess & Richard Arrowsmith. I was gobsmacked by their incredible harmonies. They've not been together long, though they've been around in other configurations for a while.
No live music for me all year then two gigs in three days. It does a soul good!
