Day Two of Hexham to Haltwhistle (via Blanchland)
We completed day 2 of the big walk today. The coach set off at 0830 for a scenic route from Haltwhistle to Blanchland. That was a delight. In Blanchland we had to compete with numerous cyclists, their support teams and police outriders, all getting ready for an important race.
We were soon out on the moors and enjoying the wonderful views and the sense of being on top of the world. There were the inevitable boggy bits and the people to enjoy them. Here is M pretending to row her way along.
At the very end of the walk it started to rain and was cold. The bus was a few minutes late but we survived the delay. Tomorrow is day 3 of the walk. If I complete tomorrow I will have walked 110 miles over 9 of the last 11 days. I think I'll have a day off on Tuesday!
