I took part in the United States' first World Book Night. Hundreds of people are chosen to give away books to light and non-readers across the country. It's been a yearly event in the UK and just came to America this year. I applied and was chosen to participate this year! I received 20 copies of The Book Thief, headed out to nearby spots, and handed them out to complete strangers. Many people were wary, but then pleasantly surprised when they found out I was giving them a book for free - no strings attached! I enjoyed sharing my love of reading with others and hope to do it again next year.
