I would've loved to post this in black and white, but you can probably tell why I didn't.
The Golden Week holiday and the first proper sunny day of the year brought everyone out in Asakusa today. It was really busy so we decided to head to Kappabashi and buy some new bowls and cutlery and then go back to Asakusa for a cheeky beer or two. It turned out to be an interesting choice.
We ended up at a little bar/restaurant place that had no food. Everything we ordered off the menu was out, which would've been okay had they brought the few things we did order. But the two old guys working there kept forgetting everyone's orders, so the whole restaurant had to keep ordering everything two or three times. It was kind of funny at first, but got boring quickly. At least we got to have nice beer sitting outside in the evening sun...
...that is until a middle-aged guy dressed up as a woman decided to squeeze in next to me. Not that that was a problem with me, in fact he said that I was handsome (must have been drunk), but some of the other customers didn't take too kindly to him and crudely told him F-off. Even the staff wouldn't serve him, so he pushed me out of the way and left screaming insults and shaking his first. Anyway, it was nice to have a beer sitting outside in the evening sun...
...that is until a weird guy in a cravat and short-shorts bungled his way into the seat vacated by the cross-dresser. Suddenly, his rammed his iPad in my face and started shouting, "daughter, daughter, transceiver, transceiver!" ShinyDay stepped in to find out what was going on after my polite refusals didn't work. Unfortunately, neither he nor his wife made any sense in either Japanese or English, but as far as we could tell he wanted to record me saying in English how brilliant Asakusa is so he could play it back for his 24-year-old daughter...who doesn't understand English.
