Priceless

Going Up

Beautiful Spring day, lots of sunshine with a crispness to the air. This is the weather tower behind the Blackford Hill Observatory in Edinburgh.

Interesting article in the Scotsman today about Blipfoto appointing a new chairman and receiving additional funding to extend the service to more blippers around the world. Encouraging stuff!

Shambelliedog did a runner this morning. Went completely missing on the hill for ages. Then a phone call to say he was with a couple of his favourite pals, George and Poppy, the whippets, at their abode at the top of Observatory Road. Poppy had caught a rabbit and no doubt Shambelliedog had got scent of this and ran after her. I later learned from a friend who left a note on my car that he was walking in the middle of Observatory Road at the worst possible point on the corner where vehicles swing round. Lucky boy to have so many kind and watchful people looking after him.

Great to have Shambellieboy up from London for the weekend while the bathrooms in his flat are being upgraded. Shambelliedog has never left his side since he arrived late on Friday night. Good practice for when the pair of them will be keeping each other company during the first week that Shambelliemum and I are away on our summer holiday.

Papers full of analysis about the local election results. Lib Dems severly punished for betraying the faithful at the last general election, and for the trams disaster at a local level in Edinburgh. No way back there then.

Whilst on the subject of politics, I encourage readers to have a look at the "Union of Equals" website for a very sensible proposal for constitutional reform.

Now back to the sunshine!
