VAF

Otherwise known as the Visual Arts Facility.

We had looked in at this new building soon after it was opened last year and I was disappointed to see that it was almost bereft of art within it's rather slanted walls.

The content inside had not improved, in fact much of it seemed the same. I read many of the comments on the aptly named comment wall, most of which went along the lines of great building - where's the art / waste of taxpayers money etc etc.

I know they ran out of money building it and now is not the time to spend lots more money kitting it out. It is a nice building, both out and in, but perhaps with a little more inventiveness, they could at least make it look fuller than it is?

What was good though is the children's area where there is a glass floor over some Roman mosaic, E loved sitting on that and drawing away. I thought she'd copy the tiles but instead settled for a butterfly:)
