Trip to Olympia, Peloponnese
Way back in the pre-Breagha days, we would holiday abroad twice a year. A Greek island in early May and Italy in late September. We have been twice to the Peloponnese, first time was to the Messinia region and the second time to the Argolida region. Thankfully, it's largely unspoilt, no mass tourism with large high rise hotels or English pubs selling Sunday roast or full English breakfast. When we go on holiday we want to see the real country, not UK with sunshine! I remember one holiday to Rhodes, sitting by the pool listening to 2 couples bemoaning that they couldn't find anyplace that served roast beef and yorkshire pudding!!
This picture was taken at Olympia, site of the first Olympic games. Very impressive how well it has been preserved and there was also a fantastic air conditioned museum on the site. It was beautiful with lots of trees and set on a hillside.
Can't believe how young we look! And I still wear these trousers and he still wears the shorts and t shirt!
