Tulip

Not much time for photos today as I am marking essays (all my weekends in May are going to be filled with either marking or tutorials, so I'm looking forward to June! No rest for the wicked). This tulip is allegedly March flowering, however it and its 3 buddies in the same pot have been a bit slow to get going (I know the feeling) and I suspect this one will open in full for the first time in the next day or so.

I had to turn the pot round so you couldn't see the greenfly nibbling the base of the flower - although looking at it in preview they do still just make it into the picture. It'll be the washing up suds for them later (when I eventually get round to the washing up that is).
