Lost Monster
There's been quite a lot of construction work in the past months at this spot, a brand-new roundabout (sponsored by St Columba's Church), flood-prevention works on a stream just a few yards away, and a new Tesco. Now the roundabout is being planted so will be easier on the eye than bare soil or concrete. If I say we are here just a few minutes drive from Loch Ness you will know which monster she is, although a bit out of her natural element. I decided on this view rather than go for the ubiquitous representation by a series of upside down "U"s. The monster has created quite an industry. Drumnadrochit on the north side of the loch has two competing "Nessie" exhibitions - both "original" and the "real" "genuine". And of course all the trashy tourist kitsch of small, and not so small replicas.
