Pompei Dog

Visited the Hässleholm Culture House today with m-bird, and their very nicely arranged Pompei exhibition focusing on where, what and how Pompeians ate! Interesting it was, although the descriptions on how the wealthy Roman bourgeoisie rolled over in food, made me close to sick!

It's fascinating how the lava sort of acted as both the "killer" and the "preserver"! Like for this casting of a dog! You can see and feel how the dog was taken by surprise and rolls up to protect itself in vain against the melting glowing hot lava. Note its dog collar too!
