In Brief, for once...

Peace Candles

It's May 5th, which for most in Japan means children's day, but here in Hiroshima it means it's the last day of the flower festival. Lots of yosakoi dancing and frantic food purchasing going on with parades and live performances every day of the 3 day event. And of course the chance for Hiroshima to share its message of peace with the hundreds of thousands of visitors who come.
I avoided the throngs like the plague this year and had a barbecue with a few friends at home, and finished off a very long book, but we did manage to catch the edge of the atmosphere while taking the dog for a long walk.
Peace .
