Odyssey

Little chance to blip or comment over past couple of days but these unusual figures caught my eye yesterday and made me stop to look and ponder.

By Robert Koenig, there are 40 of these 2.5m tall wooden figures standing in groups in and around St Martin's on Trafalgar Square and they've been exhibited around the UK since 2006 apparently. They are "based on the theme of Polish migration, they question our acceptance and welcome of minority groups and call on us to reflect on journeys we make in our own lives."

There's something very dignified and self-contained about them. I made them b/w to reflect this but full height colour pic is here. They're at St Martin's until mid July.
