Becoming the uniform

Tonight was my first shift with St John Ambulance where I could treat patients myself, rather than observing treatment. Felt good to me doing it myself and had some interesting cases too.

Very much enjoying being with SJA and the training I'm getting. Got my 2nd level assessment this weekend.

To work a shft I have to shed myself and become the uniform - hair tied back off face and not touching collar, no jewellery, nothing below the elbow, no make up.

You know we iron our shirts not just to look presentable but to kill the bugs? Pretty clever when you think about it.

I dont mind doing everything they ask for the uniform though - it makes me a part of the SJA family.
