The toads set off this afternoon to go to Plas Newydd which is a National Trust house and gardens on the other side of the island but when we got there as - is often the way- it was closed. so we carried along the road and came to this Neolithic burial chamber of which there are a few on Anglesey, this one is through a couple of fields and overrun with sheep which are very good grass cutters.

The doorway is supposed to face the midsummer rising sun which lights up the quartz stone at the back of the chamber.

It's name roughly translated according to the info is "the mound in the dark grove" also called Black Hill grove.
