A Year in Phnom Penh

Classroom antics

A particularly good day in the classroom today. I am trying to take note of these, not because they are few and far between, but because I can so easily focus on the small things that don't go perfectly.

This is part of our Language Arts work on a book called Tuesday and not only do I love it but the kids do too. And I am endlessly impressed by the words and sentences they come out with (Such as these) and how far they have come since the beginning of the school year.

Also really excited about my new project to keep my class webpage updated weekly with photos and descriptions of what we've been doing in the classroom. Check it out:
Grade 4 with Teacher Helen

A couple of days ago, I was talking to friends about teaching in a class with no Interactive Whiteboard or computer or mod cons. Other than realising how bad my writing is (especially because I am always loathed to slow down for neat board writing when there is so much fun stuff to do in class), I barely notice it any more. If anything, it has made me much more resourceful and focused on how to make the learning happen with whatever you have to hand.
