Self Portrait

Who am I, you may ask,
An easy question you may think.
But in my head, I ask the same,
and feel I'm never quite in sync.

In my dreams, I often think
That I would like to be
Some rich and famous person,
but I might kill the paparazzi!
Since the limelight isn't right,
maybe I could try
To be a superhero,
Especially if I could fly!
But I suppose since that story
Is just a simple fable,
I could be a little serious,
And tell you of what I'm able...

I can be a good mother,
I can be a loving wife,
I can pour my heart and soul
into the family in my life.
I can give to my friends
the same things that I take,
I can fold my hands in righteous prayer
and pray when I awake,
To thank him for another day
to do the things I need to do,
To be the best I can be,
And give that best to others too.
